Global Brigades provides student volunteers the ability to work alongside professionals and to participate in international programs that empower and improve the quality of life of under-resourced communities in developing countries, while respecting local culture.
The nine main skill-based programs are part of a unique holistic process with the goal of transitioning all of the communities to a self-sustaining system. These programs include Medical Brigades, Public Health Brigades, Dental Brigades, Water Brigades, Microfinance Brigades, Business Brigades, Law Brigades, and Environmental Brigades.
The University of Connecticut Global Brigades strives to bring both quality and sustainable medical, public health, water, environmental and microfinance initiatives to developing communities in Ghana, Nicaragua, Honduras and Panama.
